From good friends to enemies, fans watched Yandy Smith and Chrissy Lampkin go through a downward spiral of drama on “Love & Hip Hop.”
Before falling out, Yandy and Chrissy were seemingly friends, at the very least, cordial since Yandy was managing Chrissy’s boyfriend/Dipset rapper Jim Jones.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, “LAHH” filming was shut down. In the meantime, VH1 released a never-seen-before behind-the-scenes video that features both Yandy and Chrissy giving commentary on “LAHH” scenes, specifically their confrontation inside a Miami club that went down during Season 2.
The club drama popped off after Yandy stopped working as Jim Jones’ manager in 2011. You’ll recall, Yandy felt Jim was spending too much money on Chrissy and Jim went back and told her. Naturally, Chrissy was pissed and she made sure Yandy knew it.
Tensions boiled over to the point where Chrissy told Yandy she could meet her outside the club to fight. Yandy didn’t want any smoke and continued to sip drinks with friends while Chrissy stood outside waiting for her. By the end of the night, Yandy was escorted to her by a show producer.
When the cameras stopped rolling, the REAL drama popped off!
“So this is what you guys don’t know. This is where the night got interesting,” Yandy said. “Mendeecees [Yandy’s husband] decided to pop up and surprise me. I get a call from him. ‘Yan, why do I see Chrissy here with a bunch of people, Jim here, what’s going on?’ And I said, ‘I don’t know. We just finished shooting. Maybe she’s chillin.'”
Mendeecess relayed the message that Chrissy and her crew were waiting on HER.
“We get halfway to the hotel and my husband says, ‘Don’t even come here because it’s about to be a situation I’m about to handle on my own.’ Now when that man speaks in that tone, I don’t usually listen, but when he speaks in that tone, oh I listened,” she continued.
Oh, and it gets worse…
Yandy said about 20 minutes later, she was told she could go to her hotel room. She gets to the hotel and realized her room key wasn’t working. She said she went downstairs to find out what was the problem and the front desk worker told her that her sister and her friends came by and said she left something in her room. The kicker? Yandy is an only child!
“You know me, I’m an only child. I don’t have no sister. No ma’am! I don’t have no sister trying to get in my room,” she said. “Now could you imagine me coming back to my hotel after taking shots, after partying, to a full-blown attack? Now if that ain’t some sneak — well, you know, the sneak happened the first time with Kim [Kimbella]. So why would I not get sneaked? Yeah, I guess that’s her style. But nah, Mendeecees stayed 10 toes down and was like, it ain’t happening.”
Well damn. Chrissy was trying her damnedest to get to Yandy. And guess what? She doesn’t regret it one bit.
“I don’t regret it! I don’t regret the way I felt about her then or the way I feel about her now,” she said. “It was messy what she did. I don’t expect anything else from her,” Chrissy said.
